Woodford Reserve’s “My Old Kentucky Home” was created as an homage to the delayed 2020 Kentucky Derby, postponed for the second time in history due to COVID-19 concerns. As the Presenting Sponsor of the Kentucky Derby the event is very near to Woodford’s heart. Filmed at a vacant Churchill Downs, it features Kentucky Cellist Ben Sollee playing “My Old Kentucky Home” alone in the Derby Winner’s Circle. This was Energy BBDO’s first piece of creative work for Woodford and it was completed, from concept to being on-air, in less than two weeks. “My Old Kentucky Home” was made safely, following social distancing protocols.
