On Saturday, May 1st 2021, Old Forester brought back their Kentucky Turtle Derby for the second year in a row! Last year’s Turtle Derby began as a way to provide entertainment for sports fans when the Kentucky Derby was postponed by COVID-19. Due to its unprecedented popularity we knew that we had to bring back “the slowest two minutes in sports”! This year the race had a whole new look and feel, embracing a classic 80’s aesthetic to showcase the brand’s timeless tagline, “Old Forester Never Gets Old.” The 2nd Annual Race stood out for its custom, digital jockeys, who supported and “rode” the turtles as they competed. The jockeys, which were 3D-rendered like a 1980s video game, were modeled after real life fans who won an Old Forester competition online.
