It’s paramount to secure media coverage during hotel construction, as it builds anticipation for the opening, and helps the sales team book meetings and event business for the first 12–18 months of the hotel’s operation. Taking advantage of an important milestone – unveiling of the model rooms – the team leveraged a digital-age approach and created a video that provided a sense of the future hotel’s design look and feel. The video was among the top five performing videos of all time for Omni, and at the time was the number one performing organic Facebook post ever. The team supplemented the content-centric approach with traditional media relations resulting in one of the most successful model room unveils for a new Omni property.
